Awards keep rolling in for Wrangler Following up on their success in the David Awards, the Wrangler has been judged best in Manufacturing and Distribution in the prestigious regional AAA Awards. “We are absolutely stoked to be chosen” said director Waverley Klein Ovink after the award ceremony. “The award recognises the great team we have turning out a quality product.” It is the Wranglers third win in nearly as many weeks having clinched ‘Most Inspired Use of Marketing’ and ‘Most Innovative Business ‘ at the recent National David awards. “While it’s nice to be benchmarked against other businesses, the real affirmation has come from the hundreds of farmers who have purchased our product. We have formed great friendships with many of them and it is always nice when people phone up or call in to say how much they love their Wrangler” said Mrs Klein Ovink. “Our biggest form of advertising has always been word of mouth referrals with farmers telling their neighbours or insisting on a Wrangler when they move to a new farm.” The Wrangler was launched at the New Zealand Agricultural Fieldays in 1995 where it received the coveted Prototype award. The concept was so innovative it was granted a New Zealand patent. The following year the Klein Ovink’s picked up a Fieldays New Equipment award for products just released onto the market. Once again necessity was the mother of invention. “We invented the Wrangler because at that stage hoofcare consisted of tying a cows leg to a bar and hoping she didn’t go down, break free, or damage herself or the farmer before the hoof could be treated. We were farming and needed a way of holding the cows securely and safely so we could look at their hooves. As it turns out so did other farmers” quipped Mrs Klein Ovink. The Wrangler is New Zealand made and sold through RD 1 and CRT as well as directly from the manufacturers. |
